CHRISTY LINDNER, DVM
Education and Background
After earning her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2013, Dr. Lindner began her career at Hickory Flat Animal Hospital, where she developed a strong commitment to collaborative care. When the previous owner was ready to retire, Dr. Lindner took over the practice, continuing the same community-centered care that Hickory Flat has always provided. Dr. Lindner was the recipient of the “Best of Cherokee” Veterinarian award in both 2025 and 2026, recognizing her excellence and service to the community.
Approach
Dr. Lindner’s approach is rooted in empathy. She always seeks to connect with her clients and help them accomplish their goals for their pet. From annual checkups and preventive care to life’s unexpected moments, Dr. Lindner is here for you. Her goal is to always help you make the best decisions for your pet and treat them like one of her own.

Outside of the Office
Beyond her practice, Dr. Lindner is an active member of the Canton, GA community and a devoted mother of two, supporting her daughters’ hobbies in horseback riding and gymnastics. She also shares her home with their two beloved family dogs, a golden retriever and a black lab. An avid reader and traveler, Dr. Lindner is also a passionate fan of UGA sports and the Braves.

Meet
Dr. Maria C. Salazar
Dr. Maria C. Salazar was born in Ft. Campbell, KY and has lived in Hawaii, Panama and ultimately in Puerto Rico where she was raised. She moved to Raleigh, NC to pursue her undergraduate degree in Animal Science from North Carolina State University in 1997. She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Purdue College of Veterinary Medicine in West Lafayette, IN in 2001. Following her graduation, she completed a Small Animal Medicine and Surgery Internship at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in Champaign-Urbana, IL in 2002. She then relocated to Boca Raton, FL where she practiced for 4 years before moving to Woodstock with her family, where she has been based ever since. Her primary interests encompass dermatology, ophthalmology and preventative medicine. She finds great joy and fulfilment in educating pet parents in ways to keep their fur babies living their best lives.
Dr. Salazar resides in Woodstock with her family, including three teenage children and 5 fur babies. Her oldest son and middle daughter attend the University of Georgia, and her youngest daughter is a junior at Woodstock High School. Their pets include Luka, an energetic Standard Poodle; Charlie, the sweetest Beagle mix; Happy, their handsome longhaired gray and white kitty; Domino, a mischievous tuxedo kitty; and Sweet Potato, the feline princess of the house. When she is not at work she enjoys her free time with her family, attending high school football games, basketball games, volleyball tournaments and dance recitals. Her hobbies include photography and gardening, and her preferred type of vacation is anywhere there is a beach! She feels blessed to be a part of such a special team of compassionate animal advocates where she can provide top-notch medical care to maintain the health of your fur babies and nurture the human-animal bond. Being fully bilingual in English and Spanish proves to be a valuable asset as she is able to assist the Spanish-speaking community and their pets.
